America250 Revolutionary War Patriots of Harrison County April 15 at 6:00pm th Susan Adams from the Harrison County Genealogical Society will share information about Revolutionary War Patriots who settled in what is now Harrison County. The information comes from the (series Vol 1) book printed by the Ebenezer Zane Chapter Sons of the American Revolution in 2000. It was their plan to recognize, to remember, and to honor all soldiers and other patriots of the American Revolution who contributed to our freedom from England. The largest and most important part of the book are the pages that talk about the Revolutionary War Patriots. It tells of their family, where they are buried and where and when they served. They found 101 patriots and are still looking for ones that were missed or not enough information to prove they served. These men and women patriots helped make up the fabric of what we are today. P Dangerfield Newby’s Fight for Freedom February 25 at 6:00pm th Next to John Brown himself, perhaps the most recognizable and evocative image of John Brown’s raid is the haunting portrait of raider Dangerfield Newby. Presenter Jon-Erik Gilot has worked in the field of public history for the past twenty years. His first book for the Emerging Civil War Series, John Brown’s Raid, was published by Savas Beatie. Today, he serves as curator at the Captain Thomas Espy Grand Army of the Republic Post in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, and works as a business archivist and records manager in Wheeling, West Virginia.
